Will winter ever go away?
It's just so cold all night and day
The world is white with fallen snow
I wish I could just up and go
away from here and these four walls
As winter's heaviness upon me palls.

I close my eyes, my mind does flee
I hear the sirens call to me
To draw me out of all this cold
To lands of warmth and sunshine's gold,
And windows open to the air
With soft winds blowing, oh so fair!

Reality sets in, reminding me
For two more months winter will be
While Northwind blows in all his glory
Leaving the land frozen and hoary
But, when he's gone, ahhh, here comes Spring!
Marching in triumph, like an exiled king!
