Boarded up doorways
in silence scream
While buildings bled crumbling bricks
through split swollen lips,
Dennis found his fifteen minutes
of fame.
The shattered windows cried
crystalline shards
and headline news.
The man lay down
His shirttail twisted upward
flaunting holes of 44 caliber.
Three orphans wept
when daddy
made the six o'clock news.
