In the shady city cemetery,
An old stone rests
Nameless but for the words
"Forget me not."

Each time someone searches
For their own lost love
Drawn are they to the plot
with "Forget me not."

Day by day and year by year,
The plot is flowered
While others wither
For someone to "Forget me not."

You'll know which one it is
Should you someday looking come.
Hand-planted tiny Forget-Me-Nots cover,
Beckon you to "Forget Me Not."

Adopted by those heart torn longers
Who by chance it theirs could be,
With a rose or a tear they bow,
To "Forget me Not."
