“May” means one might, or maybe will,
It’s possible, but who can tell.
Not sure, one must wait until
The time comes and one knows darn well.

“May” is merely indefinite,
And, for certain, one never knows.
One can never depend on it,
For with “may” no guaranty goes.

So, if one tells you that they “may”,
Don’t hold your breath while you’re waiting,
It’s just another way to say,
“I might, but I’m hesitating.”
