I fell asleep and did not wake
But stood and looked across a lake
And on the other side did see
My daddy looking back at me
I raised my hand, to him reached out
He smiled and gave a joyful shout
"Come on, the boat is waiting there
for you to come and join me here!"
I went across and took his hand
We walked together in that land
And talked of yesterdays and years
We held each other and mixed our tears
He told me how to live my life
Without a fear, with little strife
"It isn't easy, but you'll see
that you can win, the same as me."
The picture faded, light grew dim
And I no longer walked with him
I woke, I'll never be the same
I saw my daddy once again.
