What is left when love is gone?

Residue, heartbreak's ashes

Thrown away feelings

Lost, like computer crashes

Residual tears overflowing

Regrets and apologies

Lonely evenings with TV

Empty conversations with self

Residue of a lost love

Scattered ashes of memories

Faces fading, voices dim

Endearing words forgotten

Swept away under a rug

Like so much dust

Just the residue of love
