Today I am slower
More than yesterday
I cannot run as fast
At games I use to play

My eyes they grow
Dimmer than before
My once slim figure
Seems to be much more

But some things are
Better as I grow old
Where once I was shy
I am much more bold

While my pace slows
I sit and watch sunsets
A nature show is better
Than any on TV sets

Birds seem to be singing
A song made just for me
Grandchildren give love
Laughing in great glee

Someday I will be gone
And that is all for good
My children will take the
Place where I once stood
