It was such a quiet time
Crickets chirping, nightbirds singing
Just felt like the world was right
Sitting on my porch, late last night

Stars twinkling in the sky
Wispy clouds, balmy air
The moon shining silvery light
Swinging on my porch, late last night

Train whistle blowing long
Trailing memories it its wake
Red light swaying out of sight
Reminiscing on my porch, late last night

Soft thoughts in my mind
All about the love we have
Holding hearts and hands so tight
Together on the porch, late last night

Old, unpainted, padded swing
Listening to the endless tales
That were told with such delight
Again, re-told, on the porch, late last night
