When I was young, I did
but now I'm not sure I do
altho I enjoy the kids
not much fun since up I grew

lots of houses on this street
with porch lights turned on
much money spent on treats
so the kids can have their fun

last year I turned out the light
when there was no more to give
half hour early than usually right
with hopes that the kids would forgive

three hundred or more came 'round
with open pillow cases or sacks
my front door they would surround
not a minute between to relax

so not sure if i'm anxious or not
for this fun, funny night to get here
'cause if it doesn't all this candy will rot
i'll give it away next year.
