We hold their hands and walk the rows
Grandchildren on left and right
We point out all the lovely ones
But the children find some blight
We walk and walk and look some more
We lift them up and 'round about
"This one isn't big enough" and
"Here's the perfect one", they shout
But on making a closer inspection
This one doesn't pass the test
We keep on marching down the rows
We have to look at all the rest
"Ah here" they cry in unison
"The one we've looked for long and hard"
I glance and find we've circled 'round
It's the first one we saw in the yard
