Dressed up to scare the neighbors
A brave and hearty band
Go out and ring the doorbells
But still hold their mother's hand

"Trick or Treat" you hear them say
And wait in wild anticipation
They wouldn't trick, wouldn't know how
But, oh, what titillation

The smallest one pushed to the front
To say a lisping "Twick or Tweat"
The others know she is so cute
She'll get them an extra treat

It's growing dark and home they go
They dump their booty out
"Look what I got", "Look at me
They trill and laugh and shout

This isn't time for Santa Claus
No presents do they get
But although it's months 'til Christmas
This is the best of holidays yet
