The candle dimmed and wavered
As ghosts and zombies slavered
Listened to a voice that quavered
"I've need of one small favor"

"Bring to me the maker of man
Who, from heaven me did ban
To make me crawl upon the land
So he could have his precious plan"

"I'll show him who's the greatest one
We've all foul work here to be done
Before the morning's dawning sun
Demands we one and all be gone"

The ghosts and ghouls were grinning
They'd stop old God from winning
He'd fought from the beginning
Now they would have their inning

Amid rattling and screaming
He awakened from his dreaming
Found himself amongst the teeming
Evil spirits with eyes gleaming

But he grabbed his silver cross
"GET THEE GONE YOU SLIMY DROSS!
I FEAR THEE NOT, I AM THE BOSS!"
They slunk away in bitter loss

Old Lucifer slithered out of sight
But vowed he'd never end this fight
He would try again next Halloween night
But he'll lose, because....
The Boss is always right!
