Thanks for this day,
For giving us life
With all of its joys
And its sorrows.


Your love you have shown
Nor left us alone,
Giving strength for
All our tomorrows.


Thanks for the pilgrims
So long ago
Who came here 'neath
Horrible conditions.


Though some never made it,
The rest still revered You,
Feasting with a strange new race,
Leaving love’s tradition.


Though a big family feast,
Just a friend or two
Or even alone,
We give You thanks.


For Yourself,
For letting us partake
Alive in Your world,
We giveth You thanks.
