While my sister and I, sat quiet on the stair
We listened to carols over the air
Then quietly, all snugly and warm in our bed
We thought we heard sleigh bells ring overhead
Mother would hide a surprise in the tree
Something special for us to search for, you see
And now I do the same for mine
A little something to make their eyes shine
Turkey and trimmings and family fun
From early morning 'till day was done
That was Christmas and what it should be
For families and friends like you and me
Each year finds me remembering
Christmas's now in the past
Those happy times of childhood
Forever, with me, will last.
