Kitten of industrial beauty
Superbly splashed with American bleach
Rolling around in balmy central intimacy
Like the ripest Victorian peach
Brightest candle in the blackest night
How I cultivate your sizeable plight
Sweeping hors-d'ouevres from your abundant table
Broken in the floods of minimal reverse
Short of adding a chapter to your enchanting fable
Now the annual fires of battle burn to a cinder
Drained, sucked into the chasm of unexpected loss
Think of your ascent on the mountain of achievement
To layer the forthcoming desolation with gloss.
