white cold sleety snow
wind swirling it all around
sudden winter storm
blanketing the ground
white and soft like baby's breath
flowers gone to sleep
snapdragons on prowl
daffodils and buttercups
hide beneath the ferns
ant pushing a crumb
through the grass towards his home
the power of one
dandelions roar
as across my lawn they roam
tossing their white manes
deep in the shadows
of a towering redwood
tiny violets
to not hear music
in the sunrise of each day
is to not hear life
