My friend, my lover, my husband
I can’t help but question and wonder
Why are the days flying so swiftly?
Minutes pass like seconds,
Months pass like days
I want to stop the ticking clock
And make time stand perfectly still.

We’re getting older very quickly
Time is fleeting, it rushes by
I want to cling to every moment,
With longer days spent at your side
And endless nights of blissful rest
Warmly snuggled close to you
As we attempt to hold back the dawn.

I love you today like never before
And tomorrow my love will deepen
Walking together hand in hand
Dreaming dreams and making plans
Taking whatever comes our way
Thanking God for the miracle
Of new-found, old-age love.
