Passing the Palo Verde Tree
Birds were singing just for me
Sounding like a thousand or more
Making me rich and not poor

The tree was in blossoms of yellow
The songs made me feel mellow
How fortunate one person can be
With songs from a Palo Verde Tree

Attempting to count those many birds
Stunned was I beyond my words
There instead of a thousand or more
Songs were sung by only four
