tinny, tinkly little noises
nestlings raise their tweety voices
as the tiny squares of glass
chime while summer breezes pass

Sunday morning comes around
brings the wondrous carillon sound
pipe organs chime and bells ring out
for both the sinner and devout

wind chimes made of glass or steel
make lovely sounds as they peal
hanging on porches or in a tree
ringing for the birds, and me

sometimes the sound of chimes is doleful
giving rise to feelings soulful
tinkling chimes can still my heart
and just takes a breath of air to start
