Violent winds began to blow
Clouds gather rapidly and not slow
Trash cans roll from one yard to next
Owners chase them down in mood of vex

Lightning flashes close to the ground
Leaves from trees fly around and around
Thunder booms in sky overhead
Puppy dog hides under someone's bed

Come into the house Mom does shout
As thunder cracks above and about
Excitement in desert does loom
As everyone hears the thunder boom

Then begans the rain start to fall
At last storm we will get after all
Twenty large drops wet on the ground
Is all the rain if any is found

For all the winds, noise, and bluster
Only a few drops the clouds muster
Winds and thunder and lightning too
Then the story skys turn back to blue
