One hundred legs he has they say
Hurrying him along his way
Does he ever stop just to play

He's long and skinny and snake-like
One hundred feet with which to hike
Too bad he can't use them to bike

In the garden along sidewalk
I never heard if he could talk
Do you think he would ever sulk

One hundred legs he has they say
It is a centipede oh hey
Who could have counted them that way

Did someone lay down on the land
And pick it up on a bare hand
And was it hot there in that sand

If only those legs were a few
It would be so easy to do
But counting a hundred could you

One hundred legs he has they say
Hurrying him along to play
Who could have counted them that way
