He worked so hard to reach the top
Rung of the ladder and he did
It was lonely when he got there
His friends no longer liked to kid
He found that being the boss man
Had some problems with all the perks
Along with the stress and worry
His old friends acted like big jerks
If something went wrong with planning
It was he who took all the blame
There was no calm on the top rung
Reaching his dream was such a shame
His pay had risen with power
His family was ever so proud
But where was the peace he had sought
When he finally reached the top cloud
