We should be building bridges
From one country to another
Carrying goodwill across bridges
Treating every man as a brother.
We should share medical advances
With every nation in the world
Studying, cooperating, healing
Not caring whose flag is unfurled.
We should be providing food
To those who are hungry and weak
Not noticing their race or creed
Or caring what language they speak.
Instead the world drops bombs
And terrorists rule the earth
Missiles destroy and warfare rages
And life is bereft of mirth.
I wish for a world of bridges
That link us all in love
With peaceful caring harmony
And blessings from above.
