FOR THE WORLD TRADE CENTER TOWERS IN NEW YORK CITY
( Those of us who saw their beauty in the skyline of New York,
from the other side of the river in New jersey…
knew about their magnetism to the human eye…. )
I
Torres gemelas,
de orgullo supieron
caer en alto.
*
The twin towers,
proudly knew how to fall
standing tall.
II
Una a una
de las manos del terror
agonizaron.
*
One by one
in the hands of terror
they agonized.
III
No sucumbieron
sino al destino, por
fuerza mayor.
*
They crumble not
but to destiny
due to a major force.
IV
Una sorpresa;
víctimas de empresa
sin justificación.
*
A surprise;
victims of an act
without justification.
V
Han sido y son
grandioso recuerdo
atravesado.
*
They were as much as they are
of great remembrance
at large.
VI
A la historia
pasarán como algo
inverosímil.
*
To history
they shall become
an incredible fact.
VII
Durante años
apuntaron al cielo;
ahora están.
*
Through the years
they aimed to the skies;
now they are in heaven.
VIII
Entre lágrimas
y cenizas de dolor;
descansen en paz.
*
Between tears
and ashes of pain;
may they rest in peace.
