Lips can smack in delight,
Or turn up in a grin;
Lips seal themselves up tight,
When frigid winds blow in.
Lips slurp on ice cream cones,
Suck soda through a straw,
Spray germs on telephones,
Or activate one’s jaw.
Lips pucker up to kiss,
And to whistle, as well.
Lips can do all of this,
And even secrets tell.
Lips shape every word,
The way they bend and twist.
Still, stiff lips are preferred
