In front of a piece of paper
my eyes blink
with curiosity
and demeanor of anxiety
from the harbor of my soul.

In silence… I escape out of my thoughts
to chisel a poem
engraved word by word,
dreams I want to call my own,
while I run my hand
over the surface of rhyme
to polish angles, ideas, the forms
I shape with a song
for you.
