Having waited so long
For this moment in time
Where upon your face I'd hoped to see
But only shadows do now appear ~

As these old eyes peer through the mist
Some things weren't meant to be
Trying to capture the face of one so dear
But the falling snow now fades you from me ~

If only for a moment you would appear
As my heart is silently breaking
For one last glimpse of you, my Dear
But the road has narrowed and lights are now dim ~

Thou hand of fate has burdened thee from me
Now my sorrow's too much to bear
But loving memories are lingering still
So I must accept ---- what wasn't to be ~
