Heart to Heart

You are my heart my soul my life
No other shall ever do
So happy that I am your wife
My love for you is so true

Heart to Heart

Heart to heart she said to me,
“Why don’t you go climb a tree,
Why don’t you just go away,
Leave me to my own ways.”

My heart did fall to my knees,
And shucks I began to wheeze,
Began to palpitate,
And in circles my head did turn.

For she was my wife,
She was my whole life,
She was the object of my affection,
And my life I had given to her.

“Just go, leave me be, get out of my sight,” she said to me.
And all I could reply, the only words I could get out of my mouth,
Were, “But love, but my wife?”
So she sent me out the door.

Now she still lives in the house I built,
Has a young preacher friend,
Me I live down under the bridge,
But each day I do walk by.

The words “Heart to heart,” do tear at my heart,
For as she lies on pink satin sheets,
Another man does her undress,
Another has my only love.

“Life ain’t no bed of roses,”
but roses did not make her tarry,
So now I live in the hobo jungle
My love still sit atop my heart.

Heart to Heart

Folds of pink satin surrounded her small delicate frame,
As she tried to recaptured her last moments with him.
They had promised each other that their feelings would be honest and true,
Whatever happened, good or bad,
They had pledged that their love would withstand almost anything.
Their love, she had thought, was made in heaven,
Sadly, heart to heart, their love had parted
Promises of yesterday, were gone forevermore.

Heart to Heart

The day we met I said, "Hi."
Then we looked eye-to eye.
We both smiled but so much more.
Then you walked me to my door.

A Springtime romance came our way,
We talked until night became day.
We spent every moment close together.
Through summer and all kinds of weather.

In the fall came down the leaves
Cornstalks bundled into sheaves.
In the winter we walked in snow,
And shivered as the frigid winds would blow.

So many seasons have come and gone.
And we still go on and on.
Do you remember at the start?
When we met,,,heart to heart?

Heart to Heart

Let’s have a heart to heart from the start,
It would be to our advantage, it would be smart.

We know not what our future holds,
Let’s be frank, let’s be bold.

Over the years there will be changes,
We will be tested; there will be rearranges.

‘Till death do us part is what we said,
Into this, nothing was read.

Who will abide, and who will go?
This is not ours to predict, not ours to know.

Will we take care of each other come what may?
Will we be ready for infirmity on that day?

‘Till death do us part may be short or long.
Will we still be singing loves sweet song?

Heart to Heart

She called from misty clouds,
Beckoning to my loneliness,
And I replied:
"May we talk - heart to heart?"

Falling through that mist,
Bringing silver gifts, she
Prepared a lovely table
For our "Heart to heart."

And she, she wanted more
She required my lonely soul,
My heart of heart,
I gave it her.

Have a Heart

He had wooed her for quite a while,
But just couldn’t get to first base,
Despite her most inviting smile,
And many visits to her place.

He brought a heart-shaped silver pin,
With diamonds nicely encrusted.
Patting her bed she said, “Slip in,”
But in days the tin pin rusted.

The diamonds she learned were all fake.
Disgusted that he could fool her,
Vowed not to repeat that mistake -
Next time she’d first see a jeweler.
