I get excited about
beautiful sunrises
gorgeous sunsets
bright green grass in Spring
trees that have flowers
the first Robin I see
I get excited when
I see a baby toddle, when
I hear my grandson laugh
when my friends visit
I get excited at
family reunions
online gatherings
opening Christmas gifts
and giving them as well
Thanksgiving Day dinners
Fourth of July picnics
Gabriel's baseball games
Grade school Spring concerts
I get excited
at a really good movie
or American Idol
if I hit an instant ticket
for even just a dollar
when I read a good poem
or write one
Life simply excites me!
It doesn't have to be exhilarating
or flamboyant
It just has to be
