I thought as one grew older
Wisdom would come naturally
But I keep making the same mistakes
For all the world to see.
I save "important" papers
But I never remember where
I make a grocery shopping list
And leave it on my chair.
I vow to never cut my own hair
But the scissors are always in hand
Ready to snip and cut away each
Curly, wayward strand.
I swear I'll cut down on chocolate
But I'm tempted constantly
Devouring Hershey kisses
Will be the death of me.
Over and over again
I continue to do things wrong
As hard as I try, I fail to learn
And that's the end of my song.
