I love to watch a darning needle
Dart in and about the yard
Feeling pins and needles in the legs
Isn't difficult or hard


Finding a needle in the haystack
Now that is hard to achieve
Sometimes we need to use it to sew
A hole or tear in the sleeve


What is so truly a pleasure for me
Is to needle a mean foe
To taunt tease and to torment someone
And make he or she go


But ask me to make a dress or shirt
Oh please forget about that
You'd have better success if you asked
Sewing from some stray old cat
