After all these years have passed.
After many songs were sang
By the rebels of the sixties
Who were angrily up in arms,
I can’t help it but to notice
How much is yet to be done
About poverty
or hunger,
Suffering,
Wars in the dark,
Peace that cannot be accomplished,
Things we did just for a lark.
Invasions of other countries
Still are at large.
Repressions of people?
We cannot stop.
In the meantime,
I remember “the answer is blowing”*
As I feel my blood is boiling
And I ask myself
Two questions:
“Will we ever catch the wind?”*
Will some day all men be free?
* in reference to Bob Dylan songs Blowing in the wind and Catch the wind.
