As sunshine bakes an arid land

Drying out all in its pathway

Desert soil hardens into clay

Cottontails romp across the sand

Cacti prickle in awesome heat

Brown hawk soaring in skies so bright

Seeking prey from his gliding flight

Sunshine continues downward beat

But wait until the evening time

When sunset colors paint the sky

Before the big round moon does climb

All beauty and peace it's no lie

Birds chirp softly from their bed tree

Serenity descends on me
