We talked this evening on the computer.
We said how music is woven into our lives.

I said good night and went to the kitchen.
I made hot chocolate and came back to my room.

I had closed the computer already but I thought
of some things I hadn't told you yet.

As I approached, the TV belted out an old song.
And I? I wanted to share it with you.

Some how I knew we would feel the same things,
even though our memories are different.

Somehow music stirs the old love that lies
deep in our chests, down near the soul I guess.

As a young person I never could have the feelings
that I have now. And I would never have desired to share
them where another could laugh or make fun of those feelings.

Perhaps one night soon I will see you on the puter.
Then in a moment we could share the deep feelings
that flutter deep our heart of hearts.

Not that lasting love, but just the sharing of the feelings we have
because we lived through the same era of history.

Now rest well, sleep tight,
and don't let the bed bugs bite.
