The container seems much too small
To hold the final remains
Of a man who towered all of his life
Even when he lived with pains


His life was dedicated to the Lord
And his family and all his friends
And when attending the memorial service
We viewed his life with many "Amens"


We miss his presence all of the time
His talent and humor and smile
His family holds him very close to their hearts
As we feel his loss, but just for awhile


The Interment is close to his family
And will bring closure to David's earthly stay
He has ascended to his Heavenly Father
On this solemn but glorious day
