Wind and rain come sweeping down,
Skies above are leaden gray,
Soaking the forlorn landscape,
Driving the squirrels away.
And as the temperatures fall,
The rain will turn to sleet,
Making the pathway slippery,
With icy slush beneath my feet.
I like a night like this,
Snuggled in my favorite chair,
Warm and cozy by the fire,
Away from the frosty air.
A cup of hot chocolate to sip,
A friend to share the scene,
December nights are perfect,
To cuddle up and dream.
