The light of morning and the darkness of evening
open and close above me
Bare branches like hundreds of ghosts
surround me
Rain showers with arrows of silver
falling upon me
Houses stand all around me
but no one stirs
A Cardinal chirping and a dog barks in the distance
A feeling of emptiness overwhelms me
Maybe soon, if I can be patient,
the sun will shine again
Spring will soon arrive,
and the buds will awaken and push their way
through the soil and smile
The doors will open and the sound of voices will be heard again
and the wonderful feeling of warmth and love
will fill my heart
and take away the loneliness
