Cold! Countryside in the snow
Swirling patterns in moonglow
Stands of pine against the sky
Hear the Snow Owl's mournful cry
Lonely is the open field
Snowcovered acres are revealed
In the moonglow deer cavort
Dancing and turning in playful sport
Fence posts poking thru the snow
Cross the fields in wandering row
Above, the Cooper Hawk climbs and dips
The moonglow shining on white wingtips
A shining, cold winter night scene
Sparkling like diamonds, clear, pristine
Moonglow and starlight in a sky dark blue
painted by God, each night brand new
